Beer Going Up

Beer-lovers... stock up now!!!
Anheuser-Busch has announced a price hike that’ll take effect in the weeks to come. Summer is when beer sales are highest, so you’d think that whole supply-and-demand thing would leave you shelling out more when you buy brew for backyard barbecues. But the beer industry doesn’t seem to have much regard for economic theories -so for the past couple years, prices have gone up in the fall instead.

Experts say hiking the prices during the summer might be too obvious, so companies like Anheuser-Busch do their annual increases of between 3 and 5 percent when people are least likely to buy beer, meaning fewer of them will notice. No word yet on exactly how much prices will go up, but Florida distributors were told to expect “pretty sizable” hikes. Beer Business Daily estimated bumps of 55 cents per case for Budweiser family products, and $.65 to $.75 cents for trendy products like Bud Light Platinum and Bud Light Lime. :{
