AC/DC 1979

AC/DC are sharing an image of the original cover art for their 1979 album classic, “Highway To Hell”, as the project celebrates its 40th anniversary this summer.

First issued in Australia, the cover features the same group photo used on the international version that fans are used to, with the members covered in flames and the record’s title presented on the drawing of a bass guitar neck …. a package the group confirms didn’t work for their US label Atlantic Records.

“The original 'Highway To Hell' cover was ‘shot down in flames’ by the American record company,” says AC/DC .
