50 years ago... the TV series M*A*S*H premiered on CBS in 1972. Leading the cast was Alan Alda, who played Dr. Benjamin Franklin "Hawkeye" Pierce. In addition to being an actor, writer & director, Alda is also a bestselling author and fierce advocate for science communication.
