Our solar system compared to the Carina Nebula
The Carina Nebula (also known as NGC 3372) is massive... One of the largest & brightest star-forming regions in our galaxy. It spans approximately 260 light-years across
and is located about 7,500 light-years away from Earth, in the Carina–Sagittarius Arm of the Milky Way.
To put that in perspective, our solar system is just 1 to 2 light-years across.
